The origins of the Goat and Trousers

Following the refurbishment of the hall, the idea of having a community pub in the village took hold. Mike Fellows and Nigel Walker took their exams to be licensees, and with the aid of an abacus and several brown envelopes, passed with flying colours!
Contrary to popular belief, the name was not inspired by the many Gin & Tonics consumed in the naming process, but was the best silly/non traditional name that came up – we nearly had The Dustpan and Elephant !
Name decided, the pub opened in May 2012 with a barrel of Weatheroak ale, and the following year was awarded first place for the CAMRA Community Pub of the Year
